Welcome to the Barn Bistro in Gilcrux (pronounced gil-cruise) in West Cumbria, a thriving and peaceful little village overlooking the Solway Firth and just a short drive away from all the grandeur of the Lake District.
As the name suggests, we’re a bar as well as a bistro and yes, you’ve guessed it, the bar and bistro was once an agricultural barn. These days, the only animals you’ll find in the barn are well-behaved dogs who are allowed to join their humans until 6pm …
… that said, we have a lovely beer garden at the back of the premises (with separate access should you wish to sit outside with your four-legged friends on warmer evenings.)
We look forward to seeing you here for a drink, some food, or both.
All that remains to say is that booking is advised if you’re joining us for food, especially for special occasions such as Mother’s Day, our steak nights (every Wednesday) or for one of our scrumptious Sunday lunches.
Your amenable hosts,
Andy and Hal Peverley.
